Mathematics · Classroom Experience

A day in the life of a maths class.

Mathematics at CdN is active, collaborative, and discussion-based. Here is what you can expect a typical classroom experience to look like.

Vertical Non-Permanent Surfaces (VNPS)

Students frequently work standing up at whiteboards in random groups of three. This encourages active participation, immediate feedback, and rapid sharing of ideas.

Inquiry-based Learning

Rather than being given a formula upfront, students often explore patterns and derive rules themselves through structured investigations.

Interactive Tech (Desmos)

We heavily utilize tools like Desmos for graphing and interactive activities, allowing students to visually connect algebraic and geometric concepts.

Mathematical Discourse

Talking about maths is just as important as doing it. We emphasize explaining reasoning, critiquing arguments, and using precise mathematical vocabulary.
