I am a Mathematics teacher who has since expanded into Science and Theory of Knowledge. My doctorate explored the pressures surrounding mathematics — the requirements placed on students, society's drive for the capital it confers. But at what cost? The question still shapes how I teach.
I taught in the UK and the Netherlands before settling in Switzerland, where I've now worked in several schools. My French is workable rather than fluent, and quietly improving. I enjoy putting technology to good use in the classroom — you'll find our class notes in Miro and review materials posted on ManageBac, the school's preferred platform. Into every lesson, whether TOK, Science or Mathematics, I bring the world of data science and the everyday experiences of raising my own child — both are surprisingly good sources of examples.
Outside school I'm usually outdoors: a mountain bike in summer, a snowboard in winter, and the Swiss mountains, forests and lakes never far away.
